3.1. Basic settings
3.1.1. General description
This section contains global parameters applicable to all milling operations:
- adjustment of the thickness of milled key profiles,
- adjustment of the width of milled key grooves,
- selection of default milling options,
- adjustment of the limit position for cutting in auto mode.
Additionally, there is an option to disable the audible signal for all operations.
To change a parameter, press the EDIT button, set the new value and confirm with OK.
Info
If the machine is in good working order and has been correctly calibrated after replacing the cutter, no additional adjustments are necessary. The milled key profiles are accurately reproduced from the data loaded. The adjustment values for thickness and width are automatically reset to their default values after each calibration process.
3.1.2. Adjusting the thickness of milled key profiles
The parameter allows you to adjust the thickness of the milled key profile relative to the nominal value, which affects the fit of the key to the lock cylinder.
- Default value:
- 0.000 mm (no correction).
- Positive correction:
- increases the thickness of the milled profile,
- results in a tighter fit of the key in the lock cylinder.
- Negative correction:
- reduces the thickness of the milled profile,
- results in a looser fit of the key.
3.1.3. Adjusting the width of milled key grooves
The parameter is responsible for changing the width of the grooves of the milled profile, which affects the fit of the key to the lock cylinder.
- Default value:
- 0.000 mm (no correction).
- Positive correction:
- increases the width of the recesses (grooves),
- reduces the width of the protrusions (ridges),
- reduces the total width of the profile,
- results in a looser fit of the key in the lock cylinder.
- Negative correction:
- reduces the width of the recesses,
- increases the width of the protrusion,
- increases the total width of the profile,
- results in a tighter fit of the key.
3.1.4. Selecting the default milling options
This parameter allows you to specify the default settings used during the key profile milling process.
The values defined in this section are automatically applied when the milling procedure begins.
A detailed description of the available options and their effect on machining can be found in chapter 2.6. Milling options.
3.1.5. Adjusting the position of the limit for cutting in auto mode
The parameter is responsible for the position of the limit for cutting in auto mode.
- Default value:
- +1.88 mm.
- Value less than default:
- the upper limit (base) will be cut more
- this will leave less surface area to be machined when finishing the key.
- Value greater than default:
- the upper limit (base) will not be cut
- this will leave more surface area for machining when finishing the key.
3.1.6. Audible operation signals
The parameter defines the global status of the audible signal generated by the buzzer.
- Buzzer on – active audible signal during all operations.
- Buzzer off – the audible signal is completely deactivated.
The status is changed by pressing the EDIT button, which switches the parameter between the available options.
